Laura LaFave Lupe

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Laura LaFave Lupe, 61, Goodyear, Ariz., formerly of Gladstone, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Hospice of the Valley in Goodyear after a 10 year battle with cancer. Lori was born April 21, 1953, in Escanaba to Patrick and Dorothy (King) LaFave. She loved city life and called Detroit, Las Vegas, Santa Monica, and Dana Point home before settling in Goodyear. Lori loved to sing and was talented in beading. She was a free spirit who enjoyed world travel with her husband. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

Lori is survived by her husband of 17 years, Emmanuel of Goodyear, Ariz.; sisters, Mimi LaFave of Mancelona, Mich., Vicky Couillard, of Glendale, Ariz., Barb Boor of Gladstone, Tina (Clint) Syers of Gladstone, Theresa (Steve Kreutzberg) of Surprise, Ariz.; brother, Michael (Diane) of Yorkville, Ill.; two nieces; three nephews; three great-nieces; five great-nephews; and a large extended family including life-long friend and soul sister, Karen Beck Van Arsdalen; dear cousins, Marcia (Jim) Antol and Janice (Jack) O’Driscoll; neighbor, Janet (Mike) Caswell; and many loving friends too numerous to name.

A prayer service and memorial will be held Thursday, July 31, at the Bordeaux Ball Room 1, Tuscany Falls Clubhouse, 16222 W. Clubhouse Drive, Pebblecreek, Goodyear, Arizona 85395 from 6:45 to 8 p.m.

Flowers are accepted at Tuscany Falls Club House until 3 p.m. on Thursday. Laura’s favorite flowers were white roses. The family requests that donations in memory of Laura LaFave Lupe be made to Hospice of The Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix Ariz. 85014 (www.hov.org/donate). The family extends a huge Thank You, from the bottom of our hearts, to all the Hospice of the Valley employees and volunteers who lovingly cared for Lori for the last year of her life.
