Tour da UP underway in Gladstone

GLADSTONE – Teaching Family Homes will be hosting the 24th edition of the Tour da UP bike tour Aug. 3-7. The annual Tour da UP will travel from Gladstone to Marquette, with a three-day layover in Marquette, before heading back to Delta County.

The Tour starts on Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Gladstone High School, with City Manager Darla Falcon confirmed to be in attendance.

All proceeds will support the mission of providing hope for the abused and neglected children of the community.

Teaching Family Homes is also a United Way Agency in both Delta and Marquette County. The Tour da UP is the premier bike tour in the UP. The tour provides outstanding food and SAG support, transportation of tents/luggage, mechanical support, plus an opportunity to enjoy a number of side excursions during the five-day ride.

The Tour has become a popular event for individuals and families from throughout the Midwest, with many of the riders coming from Wisconsin and Illinois.
