Summer reading pays off
MENOMINEE – The Menominee County Library concluded its six week summer reading program “Fizz Boom, Read” at the Stephenson Township Hall in Stephenson. Kidz Town presented a puppet show and also provided balloon animals for nearly 60 children. Refreshments were served.
Club members were asked to write down the titles of books read to earn book prizes and encourage reading. The children who logged in with the most books read in the pre-school through kindergarten group were: Eli Kordish, Hunter Kordish and Valentine Smith. In the 1st through 3rd grade group: Adria Ruleau, Shelby Betters and Brooklyn Voelker. In the 4th grade and up group : Jolyn Hoijer, Ariel Poupore and Ebony Johnson.
At the Hermansville Branch the top readers in the young group were: Lilly Cronick, Sierra Schwark and Maddison Cronick. In the older group: Jake Poquette, Dakota Schwark and Anthony Junek. Top readers were awarded t-shirts and books.
Club members are encouraged to continue reading through August for prizes.
Story Time will begin on Friday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. at the main library in Stephenson.
