GHS Senior Party

parent meeting Tuesday

GLADSTONE – There will be an organizational Gladstone High School Class of 2015 Senior All Night Party parent meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 7:30 p.m., in the high school library. Officers will be selected and fund-raising activities will be planned.

All parents of seniors graduating from GHS in 2015 are invited to attend.

Board meets Aug. 20

MANISTIQUE – A meeting of the Concealed Weapon Licensing Board for the County of Schoolcraft will be held at the Prosecuting Attorney Office 209 in the Schoolcraft County Building in Manistique on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 1 p.m.

Grief support group

sets meetings

ESCANABA – OSF Home Care offers Community Grief Group meetings on the third Thursday of each month in the second floor conference room of OSF St. Francis Hospital. The next meeting is scheduled for Aug. 21 from 6-7:30 p.m.

The group offers a warm, caring and confidential environment that allows grievers the opportunity to be supported by others who understand.

Legion Service Officer

visits Upper Peninsula

MANISTIQUE – Patrick Kline, the American Legion’s Department Service Officer, is making his monthly visit to the Upper Peninsula to assist veterans with claims preparation, presentation, and appeal counsel. He is available to assist all veterans.

His schedule is Monday, Aug. 18, at the Manistique Office of Veterans Affairs, 9 am to 12 p.m.; Rapid River American Legion Post 21, 1-4:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 19, Menominee American Legion Post 9-4 p.m.

TRIAD/RSVP meeting

set for Aug. 19

ESCANABA – The next meeting of TRIAD/RSVP will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Escanaba Civic Center, Room 115.

TRIAD consists of Seniors and Local Law Enforcement working together. Agenda items include Presentation/Information by Jimmy and Sally Bruce on Real Possibilities & Life Reimagined with AARP and UP State Fair TRIAD Table.

Anyone wishing to remain for lunch at the Escanaba Senior Center is asked to call 786-8850 at least one day in advance for a reservation. Suggested donation is $3. The menu includes pork roast, sweet potato, broccoli-raisin salad, bread and pineapple.
