Wilk – McInerney

OAK PARK, Ill. – Adrienne Wilk (Rogalski), formerly of Chicago, and Kevin McInerney, formerly of Escanaba, were united in Holy Matrimony during a 2:30 p.m. Nuptial Mass that took place at St. Giles Catholic Church in Oak Park, Ill., on March 1. Rev. Carl Morello presided. The Nuptial Mass was concelebrated with Rev. Henry McInerney, cousin of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the couple’s honor at the Grand Ballroom of the Carleton Hotel in Oak Park.

Adrienne Lavarone, a friend of the bride, served as the matron of honor. The bridesmaid was Rosemary Grow, sister of the groom.

Thomas McInerney, brother of the groom, stood as best man. The groomsman was John McInerney, also brother of the groom.

Ushers were Steve Bartkowski, a friend of the couple, and John Grow, nephew of the groom. Flower girl was Kaitlyn Andrews, grandniece of the groom, and ring bearer was Thomas Weber, grandnephew of the groom.

Adrienne is the daughter of the late Edward and Viola Rogalski. She is a 1975 honors graduate of the University of Chicago. She received her Ph. D. in biology at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1981 followed by a four-year NIH postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. She is employed as a tenured professor in the College of Medicine at University of Illinois at Chicago. There she was a PEW Foundation Scholar in the Biomedical Sciences and a recent recipient of a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Kevin, the groom, is the son of the late Drs. Thomas and Edna McInerney. He is a 1974 graduate of Northern Michigan University and a 2001 graduate of Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee with a master’s degree in educational leadership. After many years of teaching in the field of special education, he is now substitute teaching in the Oak Park area.

Out-of-town guests in attendance were from California, Kansas, Upper and Lower Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.

The couple recently returned from a honeymoon trip to Hawaii in June. They are now living in Oak Park.
