David P. ‘Murph’ Grenier

ESCANABA – David P. “Murph” Grenier, 61, 219 N. 13th St., Escanaba, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at the Christian Park Health Care Center.

David was born in Escanaba on May 22, 1953, the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Fahey) Grenier.

David attended Escanaba Public Schools.

He was employed by Delta County Landfill for 23 years and Lakestate Industries for 13 years.

David loved riding his bike and his Lionel train sets. He also enjoyed attending the fair every year, going to the casino, and eating at the Family Inn. He was a member of the Escanaba Eagles Aerie 1088 for 25 years.

He is survived by his sisters, Barbara (Robert) Gravelle, Peggy (Francis) Verbrigghe, Linda (Rod) Phillips, JoAnn Klodt, Laura Sarasin; brothers, Fred (Elizabeth) Grenier, Jerry Grenier, Joseph (Melinda) Grenier; brother in law, John Sarasin; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba with funeral services officiated by Rev. Rick Courier held at 5 p.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ones favorite charity in David’s name.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Grenier family.
