Eagles to host

Pancake Supper

ESCANABA – Escanaba Eagles Club will host a Pancake Supper today with serving from 5-8 p.m. The menu will consist of four different kinds of pancakes – plain, blueberry, chocolate chip and cinnamon – along with sausage, orange juice, milk and coffee.

There will be a Football Players Eating Contest as well as 50/50 raffles.

Advance sales are $6 for adults (it will be $7 at the door). Children 6-12 are $3 and children 5 and under are free of charge.

Heart of North Lions

to meet Monday

BARK RIVER – The Heart of the North Lions Club will hold its monthly E-board meeting on Monday at 6:45 p.m. at the Bark River Township Senior Center. Please note the date change for the E-board and the time/place change for the General Meeting.

The general club monthly meeting will be Thursday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m. at Home Base in Schaffer. The group will be celebrating their 10-year anniversary as a Lions Club. The anniversary party will be for members only. RSVP to Judy Racette.

The Heart of the North Lions Club is part of the world’s largest service organization, Lions Clubs International. Lions are men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to help fill those needs.

Livestock Swap set

for Sept. 6 in Trenary

TRENARY – Great Northern Poultry and Livestock Connection (GNPLC) is having its last swap of the 2014 season at Holmquist Feed Mill in Trenary on Saturday, Sept 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

GNPLC members are free, and non-members are $5 to sell. Membership

is $15 per year/per family. A silent auction will run from 10 a.m. to noon. Donations for the auction are accepted and appreciated. A 50/50 raffle, Music by Maude, and concessions/bake goods are available.

Cornell Bridge Walk

set for Sept. 1

CORNELL – The 14th annual Cornell Walk will be held on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1, at the Cornell Township Hall. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 11.

A potluck lunch will be held after the walk. Participants are asked to bring a dish to pass, their own place setting and drinks. The public is welcome.
